Meet the Author..... Deborha A. Parham
Deborha is a Georgia native born in Atlanta. As a child she was involved in a car accident that left her handicapped. While incapacitated, she discovered that she enjoyed writing short stories, poems and journaling. Thus the writer in her was born. All through school she was placed in advanced classes which enabled her to excel in college.
Her fascination with how things operated opened the door of discovery to technology. The love of technology drove her to start her own desktop publishing company, Nite Shift Computer Services while still being employed as a federal employee. The company has been in operation for 15 years. She is also co-owner of another company called Sekret Xscapes. Sekret Xscapes creates and prepares nights of intimacy for married couples away from home.
Although this is her first published novel, she is no stranger to the literary market. She has been writing for over ten years. Journaling and scrapbooking are two hobbies that helps her to relax. Deborha also enjoys mentoring young ladies. This enables them to reach inside of themselves and discover their destiny.
The title of the book is very dear to Deborha's heart. As she was writing, the Lord revealed to her the name of her book. Beyond The Ashes is symbolic of her healing process. The word, 'ashes', stands for Anger, Sorrow, Hatred, Empathy and Sickness. In each stage of her life, there were always sisterfriends who stood with her which enabled her to go through.
She currently resides in Stone Mountain, Georgia with her husband of 21 years, Wade and their three children, sons Rashi and Ramoris (who attend Georgia Southern University) and daughter Ramaiseya (who is a junior in high school). Her siblings are made up of two sisters (Loretta Fuller and Ivey Pritchett) and three brothers (Nathaniel White Jr, Frederick White and Sharman White). Deborha has been a member of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia, Georgia, where Bishop Eddie L. Long is the senior pastor, for 19 years.
